Abstract

This study aimed to carry out a prospective study of the sports sector to facilitate the design of future scenarios from the perspective of the actors and the analysis of plausible futures. A descriptive methodology was used, having the municipality's sports sector as the unit of analysis, applying the Delphi, Abaco de Regnier, MIC-MAC, and Morphol prospective tools. As a result, three future scenarios were identified: optimistic, pessimistic, and challenging, which envision a strategic vision for the horizon in 2030. This input is integral to decision-making and resource allocation for the local sports sector. It will help the sector identify which actions are the most important and should have the highest priority, improving its positioning nationally and internationally. The results show orientation to prioritize factors that improve the organizational, political, economic, and social conditions since they appear unfavorably in the extrapolation and are considered the most challenging and resistant to change by the actors. These factors correspond to centers of power and decisions that escape their will, while the most favorable factors are considered desired, possible, and realistic.
